Two folded scooters and bicycles per train or tram

Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) has agreed to limit access to two electric scooters and two bicycles per train or tram from 1st December throughout the TRAM d’Alacant network.

These personal mobility vehicles (PMVs) will have to be placed in the last carriage of the units on a mandatory basis as of 1st December and will always have to be folded, starting from the access to the facilities.

Owners are responsible for not causing a nuisance to other travellers or damage to vehicles or facilities.

Under no circumstances may drivers’ access to the driver’s cab be obstructed.

In addition, access to the elevators with bicycles or electric scooters is prohibited.
The restriction to two electric scooters and bicycles may be modified, at the discretion of FGV personnel, depending on the actual busyness of the vehicle or other circumstances that may require it.

Similarly, during the celebration of certain high-demand events, such as the San Juan Bonfires, access with bicycles and electric scooters may be prohibited throughout the network or in certain areas, as is already the case today.

This decision has been taken after assessing the implications on the intermodality of users and in view of the evidence that the transport of bicycles and electric scooters is causing a series of problems related to operations, transport, safety and coexistence among users.
