FGV in 2010 reached more than 73,290,000 passengers in the holdings of Valencia and Alicante

Railways of the Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) has carried in 2010, according to provisional year-end, a total 73,290,890 passengers, distributed in the metro, tram and rail provided on the holding of Valencia and Alicante.

This represents an increase of 2.95 percent compared to passengers carried in 2009, a fact which is particularly significant taking into account the general economic crisis.

The TRAM Metropolitano de Alicante last year carried 5,243,301 passengers, representing an increase of 11.50 per cent over the previous financial records and certifies the success of the new sections and lines that have been service in recent years.

Metrovalencia 68.047.5896 reached the figure of passengers, representing an increase of 2.35 percent compared to the records in 2009.

The largest number of passengers transported on the network it is Metrovalencia Line 3 (Rafelbunyol-Aeroport) with 24,612,887 passengers in September. We follow the line 1 (Bétera / Llíria-Villanueva de Castellón) with 19,517,008 users, Line 5 (Neptú / Aeroport-Torrent Avinguda) with 17,027,532 customers, Line 4 (Doctor Lluch-Masdel Rosari) with 5,037. 532 travel and Line 6 (Tossal Marítim del Rei-Serrería) with 1,852,478 passengers.

Xativa station, which is expected to reach 5,524,765 passengers, the station has established itself as the largest number of network users Metrovalencia. It is followed by Columbus station with 4,876,086 passengers. In third figure Guimerà Angel station with 3,133,911 passengers, though, given its transfer station on lines 1, 3 and 5, is the busiest station with users across the network. The fourth position is occupied Túria station with 2,580,139 passengers.

Over two million passengers carried are also Facultats stations, Benimaclet, Plaça d’Espanya and Avinguda.

In Alicante, Line 3 (Mercado-Venta Lanuza) of TRAM is the one that occupies the top position with 1,877,833 passengers will follow the Line 1 (Market Benidorm) with 1,804,333 trips, Line 4 (Puerta del Mar, Playa San Juan) with 860,834 passengers and Line 9 (Benidorm-Denia) with 700,301 passengers.

Market Station, with more than 818,000 travelers is the station with highest rates of users throughout the year. However, Lucero, who was inaugurated last June, has emerged as the busiest station in the network of TRAM Metropolitano de Alicante, reaching just over 457,000 passengers six months. Ranked third Marq station that encrypts the number of passengers by 268,000. The fourth position is occupied by the station Benidorm over 262,000 travelers. Creueta station, with 132,000, in the fifth position.
